2 dsp golden syrup
pinch of salt
50g castor sugar
75g butter
150g rolled oats
50g sultanas (optional)
Pre-heat oven to 210°C or Gas Mark 7. Grease a shallow tin, line with greaseproof paper and grease the paper.
Place the syrup, butter and sugar in a pan over a low heat until melted.
Add the oats, sultanas (if using) and a pinch of salt and mix well.
Put the mixture into the tin and press down until top is level.
Bake for 20 minutes. Cut into portions while still hot and leave in the tin until cool.
