| Line a deep oven proof dish with buttered bread. |
| Spread a genourous layer of tinned black cherries on top and place more buttered bread on top. |
| Repeat the bread & cherry layers until dish is about half full, ending with a bread layer. |
| Whisk together the milk, eggs and sugar and warm gently. |
| Melt the bar of plain cooking chocolate and stir into the milk mixture. |
| Pour over the bread and cherries and bake until set. |
