I'm a typical 21st Century mother of four. Unfortunately (for them and my husband) I'm not a very good cook.

I have set up this web-site to help me co-ordinate recipes I have found. This is my own personal cookbook which anyone can view - no more searching through books for that recipe you wanted. I hope to grow so please be patient if you can't find the one you want. I am trying to keep to traditional british recipes - easy to cook and not too time consuming.

Thanks to everyone who has donated recipes to this site. If you have a favourite recipe please e-mail me or fill in the Submit a recipe page.

Cooking with fresh food (unfortunately) takes more time than using ready meals but the health benefits can be rewarding. Eating healthy foods doesn't necessarily mean switching to low-fat alternatives - a varied diet including proteins, carbohydrates, vegetables and dairy products with reduced amounts of sugars and fats (but not excluding) is the best way to eat a balanced diet and stay healthy.

With food allergies on the increase it can be easier to cook for yourself with the knowledge that you know exactly what you are eating and that your food will be free from the foods you are avoiding.

If you try a recipe and find it doesn't work please e-mail me so I can change it or remove it if necessary.
